The new store is open

Lincoln Formal Dress Boutique is now officially back in a brick and mortar store. We opened Sept. 1, 2021, at Meridian Park at 70th and O streets in Lincoln.

The timing was good as it is Homecoming season. We were pushing hard to get the store open in time for Homecoming shoppers, and luckily succeeded. This was an uncertain prospect, as the building managers said the space might not be open until October. So we were fortunate that they finished in late August. We got the space ready and set the opening date.

Business has been brisk overall, with moms bringing their daughters in to look for Homecoming dresses. I feel safe in saying that Lincoln Formal Dress Boutique has the best selection of Homecoming dresses in Lincoln. Customers have told me that, and I have personally checked it out by going to other stores to see what they have. Frankly, it’s little to nothing!

So there is still time to shop for Homecoming, and many people still are. I see many families wait till the last minute, and many are coming from a good distance out of town to see what we have. I have to admit not all girls find what they want. Some have such a particular style of dress they are looking for that I honestly don’t think they will find it anywhere, unless they hunt for it online.

But myself and my partner Chris have enjoyed meeting every person who has come into the boutique. Most are so pleased that they have this option for formal dress wear that has been severely lacking in Lincoln. In addition, we are the only place in the area where you can rent a formal dress. Many love that option, knowing that they are likely to only wear the dress once.
